We live in an old house – to compliment our house, we have lots of old furniture mixed in with new. Our indoor porch is home to an old wicker couch, chair and table. Unfortunately this furniture has taken quite a beating over the years, but we love it, so it isn’t going anywhere soon.
The one thing that has bugged me for a while is the fabric under the glass of the table. This fabric is as old as the furniture and has gotten dirty and discolored over time….but it is one of those things that I just never had time to deal with. You see, the fabric is glued ontop of the wood that sits inside the wicker, and that wood is glued inside the table frame. The wicker is so old that it easily breaks if any pressure is put on it, so taking it apart is NOT an option, so I dealt with it….until this weekend!
As I was watching my kids play on the porch from my wicker chair, I looked over at the table and had a light bulb moment. Oh! Why didn’t I think of this before?
I immediately ran down to my studio, grabbed some fabric, pulled the glass off the table and used it as a template.

I can’t tell you how happy this 10 minute fix has made me! I hope you are having a productive weekend too!
