This week’s Edit Me Challenge over at My Reflection of Something was super fun for me. I don’t spend much time editing photos of babies (probably because I don’t have any babies to take pictures of). The fact that this photo had a blank canvas for a background gave me a chance to really have fun with it.
I started out by playing around with the levels until I got the base of the picture where I wanted it. I then applied “Cute Baby Action” by M-a-e-e to soften and brighten the baby. I then added a hue/saturation mask on that adorable bow, which I changed to blue to emphasize it a bit more.
Next I used a curves mask to warm the basket color a bit and did some fine tuning around the eye clarity.
I then added a damask background with a blue tone which I thought really made the photo. Finally I cropped the photo so baby’s face would be the focus.
So much fun!
Photo editing is so cool! It’s truly amazing what you can do with/to a photo!
