Are you a fan of freezer waffles? I know my family practically survives on them during the week. I typically purchase Whole Wheat Eggos…yes, I know…probably not the best option, but we are a working family, and breakfast is where convenience trumps nutrition (at least we choose whole wheat). Anyway, given our lifestyle change, I had to find another option….so I took some time this weekend to make my own freezer waffles.
This recipe is a quick and easy waffle recipe that freezes real well….and the best part – it has no soy, and as a bonus….no artificial ingredients. Get the recipe and freezer directions after the jump.
2 cups whole wheat flour (I use white whole wheat flour)
1 3/4 cups milk
1/4 cup melted butter
4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 t. salt (optional)
|Agave Sweetener from Trader Joe’s; a great alternative to sugar!|
|King Arthur White Whole Wheat Flour|
In large bowl, beat eggs with wire wisk. Beat in the the rest of the ingredients until smooth.
