It’s BACK TO SCHOOL time! For me, I spend the last couple weeks of summer preparing for the start of the school year. On my to do list are the typical clothes and supply shopping, but I also start preparing some quick and easy food choices like freezer waffles or pumpkin pie pop-tarts to grab on-the-go. This year I’ve decided to save a few bucks on pre-packaged single-serving snacks and make my own. By making your own “snack packs” you not only save money, but can mix and match the contents as you like!
My older daughter loves this particular trail mix from Trader Joes. I was able to make 10 single-serve packs from one 14oz bag…here is how I did it. NOTE: If you do not have a vacuum sealer, you can simply do this using small zip-lock baggies.
IMPORTANT!!! Now, here is a trick you will NOT want to forget…to make this an easy-open pouch, you need to make a small clip in the sealed edge of the plastic. If you don’t do this, your child will not be able to open this pouch without scissors!
And that’s it!
